Volunteer with Silver City Blues Festival!
Volunteers are love in motion! Volunteers literally run the show! They create memorable experiences, ensure the safety of park patrons, pump up the party and of course, reap the benefits of working behind the scenes.
Please see the following positions and let us know what interests you and/ what your capabilities are. We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 3hrs in any given position.
We hope that you consider joining our team and making the 31st Annual Silver City Blues Festival a smashing, bluesy success!
Pre Set-up Friday May 22, 2026
Set-up is very important for a smooth running Festival. If you can spend a few hours helping us set up tents, cones and signs, mapping out areas, hanging signs, or even just familiarizing yourself with park set up, this could help immensely with preparation for the next day's flow. We will have many people coming into the park looking for their vending spaces to drop off items that will stay in the park overnight. Note: Tasks may include some heavy lifting, use of ladders, and coordination.
Set-up Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
Set-up is a very important part of the Blues Festival! We will have many people coming into the park looking for their vending spaces. We will need you to accompany folks to their space and help with unloading and traffic. Saturday will be a big day. Lots of people, traffic, and things to move. Sunday morning set up will be calmer, seeing as most vendors will be established. We may also have some new folks coming in for just Sunday. Note: Tasks may include some heavy lifting and coordinating nice and early in the morning!
Coffee Runner! Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
We are looking for someone to do a quick coffee run for the green room! We will be organizing a large coffee order for the performers that need to be picked up and brought to the park at 9am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday. They will also need to be taken back to the coffee shop in the afternoon (and possibly midday for a refill). This is a really quick but important task!
Vendor Coordination Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
Vendors are an important part of the Blues Festival! If you have experience in coordinating people to spaces and are good at reading maps, this could be a great volunteer opportunity for you! With a map in hand, you will greet vendors (retail/food/beverage/entertainment will be delegated) and show them to their set up spaces as well as address and questions, concerns, or needs they may have. (This will be much more complicated on Saturday than it would be on Sunday).
Parking Attendants Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
Yes we know, another one of those boring jobs, but very crucial. We make a concerted effort to have an abundance of handicapped parking, as well as parking for all of the vendors, volunteers, and performers. The parking attendants are instrumental in the efficiency and comfort of the event staff. You will man one of the parking lots and direct traffic flow.
Entrance Booths Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
We will have three entrance booths. This job is important for setting the starting energy as people enter the park! Your job will be to greet and check in folks, be sure they aren’t bringing in unpermitted items such as open bottles, alcohol, or non-service animals (we will supply you with a list), and to get them pumped up for the festival that awaits them! You will be accompanied by security and required to keep count of patrons with a supplied clicker.
MRAC Booth Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
Help us keep the MRAC booth manned! You will get the chance to help us keep the festival organized and moving smoothly while being a central point for helpers, donations, and information on both the Festival and the Mimbres Region Arts Council! This will include watching over our VIP Area (reserved space for our sponsors and supporters to enjoy the music with front row seating!) Your job will be to watch over this area to be sure that only our VIP members take this seating. This is a very low energy task!
Donation Collection Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
The Blues Festival is a wonderful event for our community, but it also benefits the Mimbres Region Arts Council and local music/arts education. Help us gather donations to support the continuation of the great work MRAC does! Let’s KEEP IT FREE! Note: This task includes quite a bit of integrity and LOTS of energy! So much fun!!!
Trash Gathering in the Park Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
Yes, we know that this is not the most glamorous volunteer position, but it does help us keep the Blues Festival clean! It is very important to us that both visitors and locals have the best (and cleanest) experience possible. This task includes all areas of the park focusing on high traffic areas like near the beer garden, food vendors, and seating areas.
Floater - Misc. Helper Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
Floaters are essential to putting out the “fires” that arise throughout the event! You will be asked to do a good deal of walking around the park. This position will involve working directly with the coordinators and being at the ready for any tasks or problems that arise as the event is starting up and coming down. This position could take a bit of critical thinking and could involve any of the listed above positions that may become available.
Tear-Down Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24, 2026
The end of the Blues Festival is always a chaotic time, and this year, we will have two closing evenings. We can always use help taking down tents, packing up equipment, and tidying up the park, as well as helping with traffic flow as folks pack up and head out! Saturday should be light lifting, as we anticipate that vendors will be staying for both days. Sunday will be the big ‘pack out’ day. Note: This task may involve some heavy lifting or critical thinking. This could run late so bring a flashlight!
Clean Up Monday May 25, 2026
The event has come to an end! This will be a morning of tidying up, dealing with lost/found items, and the last few items to be packed up from the park and returned. This concludes the volunteer tasks!
We are doing a large call out for Volunteers! So please feel free to share this information with any friends, family members, or organizations you think would be interested!
Volunteers will get an exclusive Blues Festival T-Shirt, and we will be provided with a meal, water, and the best seats in the house!
